Alua

Alua is a fine artist and tattoo artist based in Lisbon, with roots in Kazakhstan and a path that's passed through Prague and Vilnius along the way. Trained in illustration in Prague and architecture in Vilnius, she brings a structural, considered eye to her tattoo work that goes beyond pure decoration. Her practice extends beyond the needle into fine art painting, lead casting, and constellation work rooted in Kazakh shamanic tradition — each discipline feeding the others. Her own heavily tattooed body is part of that same story: a living record of an identity built across borders and disciplines. Alua works selectively, treating each piece as a collaboration rather than a transaction. Her work has been recognized by The Vandalist, CoCreate, and Portugal's Revista NIT.
